Jose Vives-Atsara: His Life and His Art, ed. 22
Nancy Glass West’s biography of Vives-Atsara covers his life from his birth in 1919 until the book’s publication in the mid-1970s. It chronicles his childhood, early art training, reluctant and nearly-fatal participation in the Spanish Civil War, relocation to Venezuela and Mexico while trying to obtain immigration approval to the US, his ultimate success in doing so and his subsequent professional success as a citizen.
This edition is one of the first 25 that were printed and given to the author, which she in turn gifted to one of her closest friends. Like all copies, it is signed by Jose Vives-Atsara and author Nancy Glass West.
